I am an authorized teacher of Neelakantha Meditation as taught in Blue Throat Yoga. I am also a Professor of Religious Studies at Juniata College, where I have taught Indian religions and World Religions for fifteen years. One of the reasons why I am so passionate about Neelakantha Meditation is that it allows me to tie my academic knowledge into a powerful practice. I feel that my meditation enriches my teaching and my background in Indian religions gives me a strong foundation for giving the theory and context of these practices to my meditation students.
I began practicing postural yoga in the late 1980s, when I was a teenager. I tried numerous times to establish a meditation practice on my own, but nothing "clicked" for me. In 2014, I began practicing Neelakantha Meditation, and was amazed at how quickly it became essential to my day!
After almost six years of study and practice, I was authorized to teach this practice to others, and I am so thrilled to be able to share this beautiful, simple, elegant form of meditation.
